Charl van der WaltCharl is a Consultant with SensePost Information Security in South Arica. The Gobi March will be his first 4 Deserts event, although he also is one of the original CNCF Adventure team participants, having tackled Mt Kilimanjaro alongside fellow competitors, Melissa Wood & Kevin O’Connell in 2005. Cynthia LaoOriginally from the US, Cynthia is a former diplomat, now living in Hong Kong with her family. Cynthia volunteers with the Corporate Liaison team at CNCF. The Gobi March will be her first 4 Deserts race, although she is not a stranger to endurance races, having competed in Greenpower and The Maclehose events in HK in recent years. David LinkerDavid is a Senior Analyst at securities firm, Chelsea Securities. The Gobi March will be a personal challenge as well as the opportunity to support The Christina Noble Children's Foundation and like his wife Lea, it will be his first 4 Deserts event. Kevin O'ConnellKevin is a Consultant at IBM in Hong Kong. The Gobi March will be his first 4 Deserts event. Originally from New Zealand, Kevin has lived in HK almost 7 years, and was part of the original CNCF Adventure Team to tackle Mt Kilimanjaro in 2005. Lea Angelin-LinkerLea is currently studying her MBA at Macquarie Graduate School of Management; she will be participating in the Gobi March with her husband David in support of The Christina Noble Children's Foundation. The Gobi March will be her first 4 Deserts event. Mark KearneyOriginally from the UK, Mark is the Group Managing Director for I.Tel (Hong Kong) Limited. The Gobi March will be his first 4 Deserts event, although he is a keen triathlete, and has participated in many events in the Asia region since moving here. Melissa WoodMelissa is currently the Chairman for The Christina Noble Children's Foundation in Hong Kong and she volunteers her time there 3 days a week heading up the Corporate Liaison Team. In 2005, Melissa joined 19 others, including Kevin O’Connell & Charl van Der Walt, climbing Mt Kilimanjaro for CNCF. As part of the CNCF Adventure team, she will be competing in the Gobi March, her first 4 Deserts event (and likely her last!!) to raise funds in support of The Foundation and it’s activities in Vietnam and Mongolia. Michael WoodMichael is currently the C.E.O. for Leo Burnett Limited, Greater China. He is originally from New Zealand, has traveled extensively, lived and worked in 7 countries, and now resides in Hong Kong. Michael will be competing with his wife, Melissa, and it will also be his first 4 Deserts event. Rob SavilleOriginally from the UK, Robert is the Chief Underwriter for Gen Re in Hong Kong. The Gobi March will be his first 4 Deserts event. Tan HuynhTan is a Banker with ABN Amro Bank N.V. based in Australia. He is the first from Vietnam to participate in a 4 Deserts event and joined the CNCF team to help make a difference with children’s education in Vietnam. Vic AllenVic is a Director of I.Tel (Hong Kong) Limited. He is originally from New Zealand but now resides in Hong Kong. The Gobi March will be his first 4 Deserts event. |
